Christmas and New Year at Sauntehus

At Sauntehus, Christmas is celebrated in comfortable and relaxing surroundings  with emphasis on comfort and pampering. From mid-November, the manor is beautifully decorated with candles, angels and Christmas decorations. Christmas at Sauntehus is an adventure with all you could wish for. 


Sauntehus upholds the old Christmas traditions. The historical surroundings provide a special atmosphere. For a short while, the guests might feel like they are back in time. The staff will pamper the guests, so they can enjoy their stay without worrying about the daily chores. From time to time, the guests might hear noises or feel a breath of fresh air as if a person walks through the room. 


Saturday and Sunday in Advent, the wine cellar and the shop are open from 12:00 till 16:00. Visitors will have the possibility to taste the products and there will also be served Danish doughnuts and Christmas punch. The shop is full of presents, decorations, angels as well as wines from the leading winehouses in Italy, France, Chile and Romania. Admission is free and you are welcome to come and visit us.

Seize the opportunity and enjoy Christmas to the full. At Sauntehus, we celebrate Christmas in an old-fashioned manner spiced with modern ingredients.  


Christmas, 24th-26th December: Christmas starts at 14:00, when the guests can check into their room. There will be a little Christmas decoration and some goodies in each room. Danish doughnuts, Christmas biscuits, nuts, dried fruits, coffee, tea, warm chocolate and Christmas punch will be served in the lounges in the afternoon. Then, there is the opportunity to attend the Christmas service at Hellebæk church. At 18:00, there will be served champagne-cocktail.

At 18:30, a delicious d'oeuvre and a three course Christmas Eve menu will be served. After dinner, the staff will light the candles and the guests will have the possibility to dance around the Christmas tree and sing hymns. Finally, Christmas biscuits, sweets, coffee and tea will be served in the lounges. Brunch will be served Christmas morning. The guests who are staying until Boxing Day, can go for a walk on Hornbæk beach or they can just relax with a good book or playing games. A delicious Christmas Day menu will be served.

          "What about New Year's Eve?"

 New Year Celebration: The evening starts before 18:00, when the guests gather for a glass of champagne, with the possibility to watch Her Majesty, the Queen's New Year speech. The hall of mirrors is beautifully decorated for the New Year's Eve party. A delicious four course gourmet menu, followed by coffee and chocolate will be served.

 

Open bar until midnight, when there will be served marzipan ring cake and a glass of champagne. There will be fireworks in the park and the guests are welcome to bring their own fireworks. The party ends after there will be served midnight snack. 

 

The price for the New Year's menu is Dkk  995 per person.
